My friends walked away tired, but happy. The bike shorts were an excellent investment.

I seem to be in the wrong comments section. I was just going to ask you if you were friendly with your friends on your bicycle ride?

I've used Ubuntu a few times, but I've never stuck with any flavour of Linux for more than a few months. The phrase "Linux is only free if your time is worthless" rings especially true for me.

My coworker uses Ubuntu (Hardy Heron), and he's quite happy with it. He runs all of his games in Wine, although it takes a while to get compatibility for the newest games (check out http://appdb.winehq.org/ for a list of compatible software). Otherwise, he says that it generally does everything he needs to do, which mosly consists of watching videos and browsing the internet.

No word on how many bash scripts he writes ;)

Hallo Alex, I've been reading your blog! Critical mass sounds like fun--it's cool that you've been able to connect with one there.

I recently installed Ubuntu--I'm running it right now. That's my latest adventure in open source software. Any experience with it? I need to learn to write bash scripts!
