Alex's Alliterative Adventures

Thoughts on Programming, Life, and Travel

D-day

I’ve arrived in Sweden, more or less alive.  I’m currently posting from a terminal in a Swedish 7-11, so a more thorough post will have to come later.

A little something for you all to think about before my next post: I’m living in an abandoned mental asylum. Lund screens their exchange students well.

I have a problem with the word “abandoned” does this refer to the building or the patients? At least it will be difficult for you to escape. I am not going to comment about “home away from home” because your mother may read this. I am glad that you have arrived safely despite sampling the Danish pastries – I did not know that pastries was another word for girls- you see I learn something new every day.

Am I the only one who thinks we will never see Alex again? If some swedish meatball is giving you troubles just yell “børk! børk! børk!” and run like hell.

holy shit man, i could never stay in a place if i knew that. If emotions and pain can seriously be embeded in tangable objects , then the place its going to happen is in an insane asylum. Although if they speak swedish you might not be able to tell the spirits are yelling. could be “im going to kill you” or “did you see the season finale of Lost? dude so crazy!”

First of all your Grandma is AWESOME! Second, if I could offer some advice?? Whatever you do, DO NOT go in the basement to investigate ANYTHING. That’s how your people get killed. JUST RUN!

But… the abandoned basement… it seems so cool! There’s a giant pile of leaves in front of the door, and the nails that kept the gate shut have rusted out. It’s just begging to be explored!

And for the record, I won’t be doing too much sampling of the Swedes. My interests lie a few thousand kilometers away at the moment.

By the way, women are “apples”, not “pastries”. It’s a very clear code word 😛

I am now completely confused – I thought apples or an apple was what Eve gave to Adam and we all know what happened then.

We were just discussing how abandoned run-down asylums are pretty much the scariest horror setting possible. Regular hosptials were pretty high up on the list, but asylums have more … non-traditional implements of … healing.

What did you end up doing with your computer?

My computer is currently sitting in the markham house, ready to be turned on as necessary so that I can transfer precious, precious data from the mother country. Why do you ask, do you seek my hard drives?
